Self-managing NDIS funding and directing one’s own supports is a very empowering way to have control and work towards the good things in life. However, people may be discouraged thinking that self-management is a difficult process. This seminar offers the opportunity to hear from a range of presenters, including parents, about their NDIS journey and to find out how and why they self-manage NDIS supports.

This event introduces participants to many of the main impacts of intellectual disability that will, to some degree, be reflected in the lives of many people with an intellectual disability.  This material is rarely addressed in formal training and gives participants greater insight into the daily difficulties that people with intellectual disability may face. 

Vocational Support Networks - Sydney

The Sydney based regions of the National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO) Program support a number of Vocational Support Networks (VSNs) in the Sydney metropolitan area. The VSNs were originally started and organised by Department of Education Support Teacher Transition (STTs) to bring together stakeholders involved in the transition process for school leavers with disability. As the networks grew in strength, steering committees were established to help ensure the sustainability of the networks.
