With an exemption granted in July 2022, people who need to use plastic straws for medical or disability reasons (and the suppliers who provide or sell them in NSW) will still be able to do so after the next stage of the plastics bans commence on 1 November 2022.

The Victorian Government has announced that free Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits are available at state-run testing sites for people with disabilities.

Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC has confirmed that eligible NDIS participants can purchase rapid antigen tests (RATs) with funding from their NDIS plan, to ensure safe access to their supports in current COVID-19 outbreaks.

From January 24, up to 10 Rapid Antigen Tests over three months (a maximum of 5 in a month) will be made available free through pharmacies to certain concession cardholders.

From 12 January 2022, if you normally have a support worker help you with meal preparation at home, you can temporarily use your Core supports budget to pay for a meal preparation and delivery service instead.
