Australia’s care system is designed to support those in the population who need it most. But when it comes to the integration of disability and aged care, there is a large gap that needs to be filled.

The new Aged Care Act

The Australian Government has announced that a New Aged Care Act will commence on 1 November 2025.

The New Aged Care Act will empower and improve the lives of older Australians who use aged care services in their home, in the community or aged residential care.

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety (Royal Commission) released its final report in March 2021, outlining ways to improve the aged care system.
