They produce various reports about the aged care system to ensure their findings and operations are transparent. These include reports on how reforms responding to the Aged Royal Commission are progressing, and reports on the results of their investigations.
Under the Inspector-General of Aged Care Act 2023, they must prepare 2 progress reports, which must:
- describe how the Australian Government has implemented the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety’s recommendations
- be completed by 1 June 2024 and 2025.
