Time on your hands? Fancy yourself an author or storyteller? Have a story to tell? Or, do you draw? Do you have an intellectual disability? Then this writing competition might be for you.

The Dulcie Stone Writers Competition is open to people with intellectual disability. The competition is designed to showcase the voices of people with intellectual disability and recognises the lifetime contribution of Dulcie Stone to services for people with intellectual disability and writing.

Dulcie Stone was a published author, having penned over 30 books. She used her writing to advocate, as a tool to transform lives.  

The theme for the 2021 competition is Why Friendship Matters.

Works can be of any length up to a maximum of 1,000 words or a storyboard of up to 3 x A4 pages of drawing.

Competition entries close at 5 pm, Friday 20th August 2021.
