The event will celebrate, raise awareness, and amplify the visibility of LGBTQIA+ people with disability, creating a platform that challenges stereotypes and discrimination while strengthening community connections. Too often, queer disabled people are underrepresented in media, workplaces, and culture. This event flips that narrative – placing our community at the centre, highlighting our diversity, and showcasing our resilience and creativity.
Through lived experience storytelling, leadership, and discussion, In Focus: Queer & Disabled will ensure our community is seen, recognised, and valued. Attendees will hear from trailblazing speakers who bring lived expertise to the forefront, building understanding and driving greater inclusion across Australia.
This event forms part of PWDA’s ongoing commitment to claim space, amplify voices, and build a stronger, more visible presence for LGBTQIA+ people with disability across society.
