Support and resources for your caring role
Are you a parent, carer, or family member of a child with a disability, developmental delays, or concerns about their development?
The Carer Gateway, a national support service, offers free, tailored assistance to help you manage the challenges of caring. Whether you’re looking to reduce stress, plan ahead, or access helpful resources, the Carer Gateway is here to support you.
In this session, you’ll learn about a range of services, including counselling, peer support, planned and emergency respite, and carer-directed packages.
We’ll also guide you through the carer support planning process and how to access these services.
You’ll also hear from Kylie, a peer worker at Plumtree who will share her personal experience of accessing Carer Gateway services, providing valuable insight into how these supports can make a difference.
Come to explore:
- A clear understanding of Carer Gateway and its services
- Guidance on how to access support
- Insight into carer support planning
- Hear from another parent’s experience in accessing the Carer Gateway services
- Resources for the Carers Gateway are also available in various community languages.
