The Victorian Government has announced that free Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits are available at state-run testing sites for people with disabilities.
The Victorian Government has made RATs freely available to people with disability so they can make safer and more informed choices about their support services and social interactions while keeping COVID safe. Victorians with disabilities who can provide some evidence of their disability can now collect up to 20 free RAT kits from state-run clinics at a time.
The Government has yet to make any specific eligibility criteria known, however, the premier did say some evidence of eligibility, like an NDIS statement, would be required.
According to the Victorian Premier, Dan Andrews MP, "RATs will be available from Saturday at current testing sites and through Disability Liaisons Officers. You'll need some evidence of eligibility, like an NDIS statement, and you'll be able to collect up to 20 at a time."
Free rapid antigen test kits at Victorian state-run testing sites
For eligible people living with a disability, up to 20 rapid antigen tests are available free at state-run testing sites and through Disability Liaison Officers. Eligible people include NDIS participants and disability support, and pensioners. Evidence of eligibility, such as an NDIS statement, is required.
