Formed in 1986, Brain Injury Australia is the nation’s peak advocacy body representing the over 700,000 Australians with a brain injury, their families and carers. Alongside providing policy advice to Commonwealth and State/ Territory governments, Brain Injury Australia is the central clearinghouse of information about brain injury and the gateway for a referral to services and supports nationwide.

In Australia, inclusive tourism is a billion-dollar market. This year (2018) the estimated value of the overnight inclusive tourism market is a staggering $8 billion. People with a disability travel at the same rate as everyone else, and yet the options available to them are still limited.

Events such as conferences, festivals, award ceremonies and seminars

are a big part of doing business today. As an organiser of these events,

no matter how big or small, provision needs to be made to ensure

accessibility and inclusion for all.

People with severe and persistent mental health issues will have improved access and support in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), the Morrison Government announced last month.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) has begun operation in NSW and SA as of the 1st July 2018. This means that if an NDIS participant in either NSW or South Australia has a complaint or concern about a service provider supplying their NDIS funded supports, they will now need to contact the NDIS Commission rather than their local state Ombudsman.
