The Disability Discrimination Commissioner has called for all levels of government to be mindful of who is vaccinated, not just the number of people who are vaccinated, as the country begins to hit its vaccinations targets.

Disability Discrimination Commissioner Dr Ben Gauntlett speaks to Fran Kelly on RN Breakfast ABC about the vaccine rollout to people with disabilities. As he points out, equity and human rights considerations are critical.

As recently highlighted by the Disability Royal Commission and our own Disability Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Ben Gauntlett, it is critical that First Nations communities, people with disabilities, and people living in rural and remote areas have clear information on and equitable access to vaccinations.

In order for our re-opening to be safe and fair, it is imperative that governments reduce these barriers for marginalised communities. He is joined by Uli Kaplan, a witness at the Disability Royal Commission.
