National Relay Service

The National Relay Service (NRS) is a vital service for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech impairment – it helps people to make and receive phone calls.

Concentrix will be running the call centre for the NRS for 3 years starting from 1 October 2019.

New to the National Relay Service:

Text and listen option for SMS Relay for users with a speech impairment.

Improvements to the Video Relay service for Auslan users.

And good news - the helpdesk will continue.

What else has changed?

All relay call options will remain the same with except for Captioned Relay. This option won't continue from 1 February 2020.

CapTel users should contact the NRS Helpdesk for more information.

All other users - you do not need to take any action. You will be switched to the new provider automatically in stages from 1 October 2019.
